Something Else Radio!

Artist Bio

T-Bird's career began in 1990 at Los Angeles' Fred Segal, known for its celebrity clientele and its ability to forecast West Coast style since 1960. Residencies at Los Angeles acid-jazz staple Internationalist and his own night, Jazzid Up!, soon followed.  Over the years, T-Bird played high-profile shows at LA hot spots such as The Room, Star Shoes, Ivar, King King, and Zanzibar in addtion to events such as LACMA's 40th Anniversary and Venice Beach's Carnevale and Abbot Kinney Boulevard's Annual Street Festival.  He maintained a 6 year residency with Something Else! at The Brig in Venice Beach and has appeared in several major US cities, including: New York City, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Miami, Washington DC and San Diego.  T-Bird has played beside DJ greats Mark Rae, Marques Wyatt, Swedish Egil, Professor Angel Sound, Mark Hill of Artful Dodger and Nickodemus of Turntables on the Hudson.

In 2005 he expanded the "T-Bird sound" internationally, starting with Barcelona gigs at Bongo Lounge (La Paloma,) Oven & Buda Bar in Barcelona, and Mandela in Sitges.  Next, he formed relationships with Swiss DJ's and promoters resulting in playing for  Swiss crowds in Biel-Bienne, Basel and Zurich. Returning in the summer, T-Bird played in Sitges' Magma Bar and held residencies at Barcelona's Torre Rosa and Sub Rosa. He was also featured at La Caseta del Migdia (at the top of Montjuic.)  Finally making the leap "across the pond" in 2007 he relocated to Barcelona, Spain. Within a month of his move T-Bird added to his list of new venues the ORIGINAL Pacha Sitges and a summer residency at  Pacha's newest club --Sweet Pacha. Switzerland became a regular destination and later T-Bird began making inroads to the UK with gigs in London, Brighton and Cambridge.  Additional foreign dates have included Copenhagen's Distortion Festival in Denmark, Berlin & Cologne in Germany, Austria's Vienna and even Norway!

T-Bird was commissioned by Straub & Linardatos, a German advertising agency to work on the Revisited 3: An Aural Trip To California mix CD to be given out to their clients as a 2008 Christmas gift. By request, the lion's share of music used was composed by him as well.  A few years later, 2011 brought music releases as Los Chicos Altos (a partnership with German DJ/Producer Maxey Blaze) on two different labels: Latin Flavored Fire, a compilation on Danny Massure's label Spring Strut from the USA and Oliveto/Samborigeno EP by Farrapo & Yanez on Mikael Palner's UrbanWorld Records out of Denmark. Los Chicos Altos has gone on to release 3 of their own EPs on UrbanWorld, Pa'lante, Se Va Mamba and 2013's El Diablo Alegre in addition to inclusion on compilations (e.g., The Wonderwheel Spins 2012 and Turntables on Las Ramblas on Nickodemus' label Wonderwheel) and numerous remixes for artists such as Novalima, Ojos De Brujo, Smokey Bandits, Quincy Jointz and others.

The sky is the limit for how high T-Bird can go…
