    This show is kind of \”good news/bad news.\”  Good news: releases by Nu Era (aka Marc Mac of 4Hero,) BBP (Ghetto Funk & Good Groove bods,) Child Of Lov (Damon Albarn associate,) Silver Bullit (from UrbanWorld Records) featuring Afrikan Boy (who seems to be everywhere right now) and house producer Chris Gavin.  Also in this column, I\’m writing this from the airport on my way to the CH (aka Switzerland) to play Pooc (Biel/Bienne,) Grenzwert & Acqua Lounge (Basel.)

    The dreaded \”bad news\”…  We lost a few musicians recently, Ray Manzarek (Doors keyboardist) & DJ/Producer Romanthony.  Ray is a 60s icon and Romanthony was only in his 40s…

    Carnival has just wrapped up in most of the world and unfortunately, we lost a music legend last week, Dr. Donald Byrd.  Mentor to the Blackbyrds (hence their name,) master producers Larry and Fonce Mizell and countless others through his teaching at Rutgers University, the Hampton Institute, New York University, Howard University, Queens College, Oberlin College, Cornell University, North Carolina Central University and Delaware State University.  As usual, the music is a mix of new and older stuff, up & down tempos.
