  • Black Feeling 3 — Feeling Good!!


    So the other day I did a DJ mix as promotion for a compilation on Freestyle Records that I\’m excited about, Black Feeling Vol. 3.  It\’s out now, so go buy it!

    If you know the Australian group The Bamboos, you\’re gonna love it–Lance Ferguson (aka Lanu) is behind it and it\’s up to his usual quality (i.e., excellent!)  As it\’s the third in the series, I thought it would be good to get people interested in the other two volumes as well, so the mix draws from all three of them.

  • Thursday Night Thunder in Basel…

    Headed out to Switzerland on Thursday and I\’m super-excited to return to the fabulous restaurant and lounge that is Acqua in Basel!

    I\’ll also be playing Friday and Saturday night, so I\’ll post about those events as well…

    We\’ll see how my new \”genre\” flies: \”global electronic soul.\”  I think it sounds like it encompasses the range of what I do without taking 20 minutes to explain…

It features music by Los Chicos Altos & Palo Q\’sea, Federico Aubele, Lenny Ibizarre and many others.  There\’s definitely some tunes included that will become lounge/chill-out classics.

    Excited to be playing the main room in a proper Barcelona Disco again!  Thanks to Professor Angel Sound and his brother Big Lips (fka DeLippo) who put on The Saturday event DF.  Because this is Barcelona, I\’m gonna have to bang it out a bit–but what\’s life without a bit of a challenge, eh?  Make it bang, but don\’t lose the soul…

    So the details are on Resident Advisor and here\’s the flashy page for Ker Barcelona.  Below is a flyer with all the pertinent info as well (I happen to like this flyer a bit.)  If you are a veteran of the Barcelona club scene, you might remember this venue as Space…

    The dreaded \”bad news\”…  We lost a few musicians recently, Ray Manzarek (Doors keyboardist) & DJ/Producer Romanthony.  Ray is a 60s icon and Romanthony was only in his 40s…

    Spring Strut does it again with Latin Flavored Fire. Being fair, I have \”a horse in this race\”–two tracks done by Maxey Blaze and me as \”Los Chicos Altos.\” But even if I didn\’t, I\’d like this EP and to further bolster my argument, I have been playing cuts off it by other producers on my show and at gigs!
