  • Switzerland!

Unfortunately, Equilibrium Festival was postponed. However, my Swiss trip went as planned: a few days in Geneva, a few days in Basel. The pictures above are of a synagogue I noticed in the center of town and vegetables from a weekly market my friend in Geneva frequents. Shout out to Grenzwert & Klara.

I recorded most of my first session in Basel at Amber Bar, a new spot with a rooftop terrace and great view of the Rhine. Part 1 (above) is jazz-funk, hiphop & acid jazz.

Part 2 (above) gets into the latin bag, some more jazz & funky business and flirts with disco.

Part 3 (above) wraps up the session with various flavors of house, including broken-beat.

Here\’s a few pictures of the Swiss countryside taken from the train on my way back to Geneva. Below are more pictures from a previous trip.

  • Back Again!

Got the call to play a DJ set at this year\’s Equilibrium Festival in Sitges. It\’s this Saturday at Institute of the Arts Barcelona. Big Papi\’s in the house too, serving up the LEGIT Mexican flavors… I\’ll play alongside Danny Mekanik (Sure Is Pure, Candy Flip, Soul Mekanik, Wonk) and MiMSY (Wonk Nation) plus it will be a warmup for my trip to Switzerland the following weekend! Planning to test out a few new tracks (productions & new acquisitions.) My set is 14-15:30h (all times approximate.)

  • Friday Update!

    \"\"

I just found out that Ivy Barkakati is playing too! I met her when I went to see Alma Negra at Donna\’s in Cabaret Barcelona. Should be a great night, she\’s got wonderful taste in music. She produces, too–maybe we\’ll hear some exclusives?

  • Gigs & Stuff…

    \"\"
Thanks to Natia Lee, Guille de Juan and Curtis Audiophile Cafe, I was invited to celebrate the birthday of the culture we know as Hiphop with a DJ set at their spot last Sunday 14 August! Big ups to the man like DJ Kool Herc, the first Hiphop DJ ever. Wikipedia has a page about him if you don\’t know the history. Below are some clips from the night courtesy of the hostess.

This Friday 19th of August, I\’ll be playing a fun set of \”Blacktronica\” at Mon Ami Barcelona, a social club at the top of the Born neighborhood.
I\’ll definitely be playing some music I\’ve been working on, so there will be music you won\’t hear anywhere else (yet!)
I\’m on from 9 til midnight. If you\’re a member, stop by and say \”Hello!\”

The following Thursday I\’ll be warming up for a big event on Friday.
An event at a restaurant run by a former Techno DJ!
El Gringos Gregos was kind enough to invite me to play some records at his spot.
I am honored to accept and season dinner with a bit of T-Bird groove.

The very next night Friday August 26th, I debut at Donna\’s (Friday nights in Cabaret at Barcelona Edition Hotel) opening for South Africa\’s Esa Williams! It should be a great gig – the location is gorgeous, the sound, visuals and staff are great. My first exposure to Esa was the Boiler Room set below from 2017. While it\’s unquestionably dance music, his definition of that term seems to be pretty broad–like mine! Hope to see you soon at one of these gigs!

  • It\’s that time again…

3rd Saturday of the month = Vibe Select on Radio Friendly BCN. As usual, R.D. has cooked up a great selection of RnB/Hiphop/Soul for a two-hour groove from 20-22hCET/11am-1pmPDT.

This coming Monday, 18 October, I\’ll be doing a live turntable session on \”The Sauce\” – our show for Dublab Barcelona – 17-18hCET/8-9amPDT

As always, if you don\’t catch these shows live, you can listen via Vibe Select\’s Mixcloud page.

  • N

Our friends at Nomada Beach Club have invited me to play there the last few years. This year has been a bit interesting due to the GLOBAL PANDEMIC but as much as possible, they have provided a haven for those needing a bit of good vibes, food, drink & music in El Garraf (the coolest comarca around! #HomeTeamPride) Anyway, I\’ll be there this Thursday and I am to livestream the session, so head over to my Mixcloud page starting at 19hCET/10amPDT. Should be happening till 12:30amCET/3:30pmPDT.

Below is the last session I livestreamed from there.

  • Some updates…

Inspired by #ActualRafiq and his session on #Omakase (#MaggieMoon\’s show on #Twitch) I made a Linktree! Rafiq\’s set was #LiquidDnB – smooth, musical stuff. He makes & releases music, too so give him a look & listen…

#FortKnoxRecordings crew reached out for a guest mix–we were honored! We hope you and your world feel funked! #FunkTheWorld #DjMix #WorldMusic #Funk Premier on #MagneticMagazine: magneticmag.com/2021/08/premie

  • That George Benson gig…

    \"\"

We\’ve all been locked down (except for New Zealand–good on yous!) and trolling through our online worlds, right? Well, my wife managed to find a GEM online… That time I played after the legend that is George Benson! It was here in Sitges at the Jardins Terramar Festival, thanks to some lovely people who are also fans, Oriol Borr
